About the game

1971 · SPI · Medieval · Dark Ages

A scenario-based treatment of early medieval battle, with infantry, cavalry, command, and the danger of an army losing its nerve. Its appeal is the variety of tactical matchups within one system. Expect the abstractions and spare presentation of early SPI design; this is a historical battle game, despite a title that could easily suggest fantasy.
