The South Carolina Area Roleplayers and Boardgamers (SCARAB) convention is an annual event hosted in Columbia, SC that brings gamers of the same ilk together to play a variety of board games, role-playing games, and even some miniature games. There's also a lot of goodies that can be purchased from local artisans and other vendors. The mission of SCARAB is "To support the roleplaying and boardgaming community and industry by hosting an annual convention that brings gamers together in the spirit of competition and fellowship." There is even a SCARAB Facebook page for the conventions.

Apparently this a newly added TSS convention and I'm assuming it is tabletop gaming using miniatures in a historical setting. There is no mention of what other gaming events will be held only that the playing area has room for 5 or 6 standard 6×8 gaming tables.

Based on last year's Southern Front convention write up, this is what this year's is about, "A wargaming convention featuring historical miniatures and other assorted gaming. If this continues to hold true, this year then there is probably a little something for everybody. I'm unsure of the location, but Morrisville, NC is where they held it last year, and it's been my experience once you have rapport with an hotel establishment you stick with it. Historicon East is the premier gaming convention for the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society, however it's been some years that historical miniature war games have been exclusive, as it's included science fiction and fantasy gaming and the associated materials for some years. Plus, more recently HMGS has allowed board games and other non-historical games at the convention. Of course, all the usual sellers of miniature figures, games, focused body wear and etc., will be there.
