Hello Battleward Community,
I recently dove into the battleward.com email inbox after some time away and was greeted by an unexpected trove of over 130 emails. Your voices have been loud and clear, particularly regarding the navigational challenges in the Featured Games section under the GAMES link. Described by one of you as "a veritable never-ending waterfall of text," it's evident that this part of the site is more of a deluge than a delight.
While battleward.com isn't currently in full production mode, which has reduced my urgency in checking the inbox, your feedback is invaluable and hasn't fallen on deaf ears. I'm gearing up to revamp the Featured Games section, transforming it from a text-heavy torrent to a streamlined, user-friendly experience.
Crafting a more navigable and aesthetically pleasing interface will require some dedicated time and a dive into new web code—tasks I'm ready to tackle head-on. I'm asking for a sprinkle of patience as I carve out the necessary time to ensure these improvements not only meet but exceed your expectations.
Your input is the compass that guides the evolution of battleward.com, and I'm committed to ensuring that our journey together is both enjoyable and easy to navigate. Stay tuned for updates and thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Forum rules
The forum rules are short and simple and are as follows:
1) Respect each other, even when there is disagreement.
2) No cursing, or name calling, or other derogatory remarks.
3) Opinions are just that, opinions, making opinions neither right nor wrong.
4) Don't post copyrighted material (if you're unsure, then for sure don't post it).

Re: The Website
Hello Everyone,
I've read the numerous emails, and I've decided to answer through here, to save me some time in answering the question individually.
Although I agree in principle with the suggestion of including the designer's name(s) and original game publisher to game review in the Featured Games section I don't have the time to do that. It means a lot more research and coding (although research & coding is fairly simple and straightforward, the time that takes is still critical) to accomplish this endeavor. I don't mean to seem to be ungrateful, as I do appreciate the suggestions and opinions, I've received, but the website help I was promised from some people has not solidified. Thus, this remains a solo enterprise. I have other things that I must do in life, so I do this website in my spare time. Literally!
But if I do gain the help, I'll reconsider this particular suggestion.
Thanks for the input.

Re: The Website
As with all things, it takes time to do something. And I'm constantly short of that precious commodity- time. I can't get around to doing things quickly because of my other commitments, however, I eventually get whatever it is, done.
After listening to some folk's bellyaching since early January I've finally got around to resizing the game title images for the "Games" category of the PC Games section. They were smaller than the rest of the game images because the only images I could procure for those game titles were smallish. I had to resize them to make them larger, thus some of the image quality might be lost due to this. If this is so, then until I come across larger sized images, it's the best I can do.
In regard to categorizing the Games page so to break the page down into several pages or subsets of the genres, I hope to begin working on it by April, possibly sooner, but by April for sure. Thanks for your patience.

Re: The Website
I'm pleased to bring the addition of two new sections to the battleward.com website: "Downloads" and "Film & Media." While these sections are still in the early stages of development, I'm committed to enriching them with the appropriate content that aligns with their respective themes.
The inception of these sections stems from the valuable feedback received through emails and live chats, suggesting the incorporation of more specific content into the site. I've taken these suggestions to heart and I'm now taking the initial steps to bring them to fruition.
While these sections are still in the process of being fleshed out, I assure you that I'm working diligently to provide valuable and engaging content. I appreciate your patience and understanding as I continue to develop and expand the website.
Be sure to check back regularly for updates and new content additions. I'm looking forward to sharing these exciting developments with you soon. Thank you for your continued support of battleward.com!

Re: The Website
After a series of lengthy think talks with my main group on Signal (no, these are not the people who swore to help with the website), the consensus is to take the website into a different direction than I have been. They were mostly careful not to knock the work I've done on the website, yet most of those people thought differently than what I have concerning how the website presents itself. I don't mind new ideas and different concepts, I like the different perceptions offered, however, not every new idea is viable and for many reasons. Not to get into that for now, at least not in this post, but I do think that some of the concepts proposed have merit and I will be exploring those further. As I reminded my erstwhile companions, I'm a one-man operation and if the best idea presented would mean taking the site to stardom, I might not be able to do it, from the technical side. Anyway, maybe some changes are coming. We'll see.
Re: The Website
Today I decided to tackle some lingering issues on the website—irregularities that had been changing the appearance of the webpages for a while. Until now, delving into the code to pinpoint the exact problems hadn't been possible.
Here's the less exciting part, but necessary for context. The original code, written in December, followed a detailed plan for the website's appearance and functionality. This plan guided the coding, to ease the realization of my vision. Despite largely achieving my set goal, a few misplaced characters persisted. I postponed addressing these until today, necessitating a meticulous review of the code line-by-line to locate and correct the errors. This process also unearthed additional, unforeseen issues. While these currently don't impact the website, they could pose challenges with future expansions. For now, those fixes are on hold for a later date.

Re: The Website
I've stopped attempting to resolve a domain name video issue for now, as the domain registrar is changing, some of the domain names I have are already switched over. I purchased this domain, battleward.com from Google domains a few years ago, and it is now going to be handled by Square Space. The afore mentioned issue might resolve as soon as the changeover is completed. One can only hope. Stay tuned for further updates.
