Summary: The Battle of Borkowo on December 24, 1806, was a minor yet strategically significant clash during the French campaign in Poland. It involved a French assault on Russian positions along the Wkra and Narew rivers. The Russians under Major General Ivan Semenovich Dorokhov held a not particularly strong position at Borkowo, awaiting a French attack. The French forces, led by Général de Division Dominique Louis Antoine Klein and Général de Brigade Antoine Charles Louis Lasalle, aimed to force a crossing of the Wkra and link between the 3rd and 7th Corps. Although casualties were light, the battle was tactically significant for the French, who succeeded in their objectives, while Dorokhov managed to hold his position long enough to allow Russian forces to concentrate as planned.

This is the first Napoleonic miniatures game in a series of games I have planned for 2024, In this first series, there are 3 historical battles involved, historical forces will be used in each battle. Points are not being used to build the forces, rather whatever the OBB was for that battle then that is what's available, and when there is question as to what specific forces were involved a best guess estimate will be made based on the facts available, as to what might have or could have been there.

The first battle will be Action at Borkowo.

This won't be occurring soon, but it will happen. I'm not certain where we'll be gaming, but my guess at this time is Firefly.

If you're interested let me know on here.

See you soon.

I've mentioned this proposal to one miniature's group, and they liked the idea. I plan on using Bataille Empire V2 to run the game, since the level of skirmish is relatively small, it'll be at battalion level. A couple of group members are local, and they have indicated they are interested in gaming out this series. One has never played anything Napoleonic so this will be a, hopefully, pleasant change for him.
