Hello and Welcome,
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

I think this is going to be a great year for gaming. I want to begin the year by going to conventions again, like HMGS and PAX, I'd like to attend the smaller but local ones, as well. It's all a matter of time and finances. What was that old saying? "If I have the time, I don't have the money, when I do have the money, I don't have the time." I think many of us retirees are stuck somewhere in the middle of that saying, we have some time, and we have some money, so we have to choose wisely. At least, I will. So, Historicon 2024 for sure. I'd like to go to Siege of Augusta XXXIII, but I'm already committed to attending SCARAB CON 2024. So, in a couple of weeks that's where I'll be.

Now...

I want to thank everyone that gave suggestions and participated in other ways. You have my deepest appreciation. I received a multitude of great suggestions, unfortunately, I can't implement but a fraction of those wonderful ideas. Based on the most immediate perceived needs of the website and the amount of time I can put in to continue building the website, there is simply no way I can incorporate everything at present. I wish I could. Take heart, as the website grows (and it will grow) I'll probably be able to add some of those suggestions as we expand. I've been in talks with some publishers and figure manufacturers to advertise their merchandise exclusively. "Battleward.com" won't be selling anything, but the website will get a small portion of the money if our users buy through battleward.com. That's for the future, but not too far in the future.

A few of you have wondered and openly questioned how I could build this website so quickly and proficiently. Am I a closet genius or do I have someone doing this for me? Its' made me laugh. And the answer is, it's neither. I'm certainly no genius and I don't have the money to spend paying someone to build this website. Back in 2020, as Covid 19 began making its rounds, we were all stuck indoors for some time, and during this time, I purchased this book on web coding, titled, "Web Coding & Development, All-In-One". It's one of those for Dummies book, and it's 8 Books in 1 written by Paul McFedries.

So, I've had 3 years to become experienced in web creation and development, and between the book and this website, W3 Schools, Web Development, I've learned quite a bit and I've simply put what I've learned to use. Plus, I had portions of the website prebuilt before I began switching things up. It might seem like I built it overnight, but I didn't.

There you go. No magic involved, just good old sweat and tears. Plenty of tears.

Until Next Time...
