- The artillery pieces are as listed and is what was available to the military forces of each nation.
- Close range is cannister only.
- Short range can be cannister or solid shot.
- Effective range is solid shot is the range that artillery is most effective with solid shot.
- Long range is maximum distance that artillery can reach and still hie something.
- Grazing is the distance the ball travels before impacting the ground, invariably it will "bounce" to 4x the effective range.
- ROT is the rate of fire that a battery can sustain for 30 minutes, this includes aiming, swabbing, loading and firing. It does not include crew rest.
The artillery ranges are not absolute but are the closest I could reach based on post-war testing done by the British and the Russians. Other stats are taken from national archives. Some of the distances are extrapolated from a variety of sources. The elevation is the degrees the cannon was set to for near ground parallel firing. This table does not take into account howitzers.
