The core (basic) rules should be finished sometime in January (yes, this January 2025). The advanced rules and optional rules will take a little longer. Perhaps by next year I'll have those out. As I've already stated the combat rules need to be further game tested to achieve maximum game balance. I've begun to get flak about how the combat system works, and although I've tried to explain some people just don't get it. I think part of that is because they expected a run of the mill game with charts and tables. There are charts and some tables, however, combat itself doesn't require any charts or tables. That part of the game is self-sufficient, as it were.
I won't be including any "official" national attributes as those values have yet to be decided.
During testing, some play testers thought the French values were too weak. Others thought they were too strong. Same with the Russian attributes. I can't please everyone, so I'm not going to try. Once those involved including myself decide what they should be I'll add them.
Remember, if you want to include what you think the attributes should be then post it. Here is the template:
-
Nation | Unit Type | CE | MR | FL | CL | MC | BC | LN | SQ |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
French | Line Infantry (LN) | 57 | 55 | 4 | 7/5 | 8 | 6 | 3 | 1 |
CE: Combat Effectiveness (1-100)
MR: Morale Rating (1-100)
FL: Fatigue Level (1-10)
CL: Cohesion Level (1-10)
MC: March Column Movement (inches)
BC: Battle Column Movement (inches)
LN: Line Formation Movement (inches)
SQ: Square Formation Movement (inches)
1 inch = 50 yards > 10-15 minutes
I think you get the idea.
