Far Reaches RPG is a home-brew roleplaying game, that I've worked on for years, and where my interest was revamped while I worked on creating an adventure for Traveller.
I've been converting the old rules -from decades past- into a more modern version while attempting to minimize game complexity. Although the rules are slowly coming along, I was sidetracked by a desire to never roll any dice again. During play testing, I've had to roll more dice than I ever have, and after a while the feel of the dice on skin became extremely unpleasant. Hence, I began coding in C++. Now that I've managed to get the character generator working, I'm expanding the app to be able to help create a profile of the character based on the generated stats. Also, I'm adding ship and world generation. I'll put a wrapper on it so it can run independently of an OS. That's my intent, anyway.

Re: Far Reaches RPG
I've created a character generation executable that's independent, it has its own libraries. It's not for public distribution, so try it out and let me know what you think. There is no readme.txt file yet. I'm working on it.

Re: Far Reaches RPG
How are some of you able to read these posts without registering or logging in?
I see the numbers of users on the board, at times there are 12 at once, yet there are no registered users logged in. At first, I thought it was bots, and some are, but not all. I guess a couple of you downloaded the zipped file and shared it with other people?
To answer the question that is most often asked, "Where is the readme.txt file?"
*If anyone had carefully read the post that came with the download link, I clearly stated that I hadn't finished writing it. I will zip it with the .exe file as soon as I'm done with the it.
The question that comes up 2nd most frequently, "Where are the rules for Far Reaches?"
*I'm still working on them. It's a home-brew set of rules, that as far as I know, are not based on any other game. I say, "not as far as I know" because I don't recognize the system I've created in use by any other RPG. I like to think it's a unique system. Anyway, it's going to a while before Far Reaches' rules are complete enough to play.
Now...
Seriously, register and make your presence known. Thanks.
